Buckhorn Saloon, San Antonio, Texas
The Buckhorn Saloon, San Antonio, Texas, began its storied history in the 1880s when the owner offered a free shot of whiskey to anyone who brought in a set of antlers in exchange. That tradition later came to include rattlesnake rattles. Over the years, the collection has grown enormously, and now includes displays of finned and feathered creatures as well.
San Antonio is in south-central Texas, on Interstate 35. The Buckhorn is at 318 E. Houston Street (downtown), a short walk from the Alamo.
