Coleman Theater, Miami, Oklahoma

On old Route 66 in the town of Miami, Oklahoma, stands the aptly named Coleman Theater Beautiful. A landmark since 1929, the Coleman was fully restored in recent years and there are performances and special events throughout the year.

The architecture is an unusual Spanish-Revival-Style. Considerable lengths were taken in restoring the Coleman. As an example, the original organ had been removed years before, but it was traced to an owner in Burleson, Texas, from which it was retrieved and brought home.

Miami (pronounced my-AM-uh) is in the extreme northeastern corner of Oklahoma.
