Custer Battlefield National Monument
Many of us have seen history re-written by revisionists within our own lifetimes, and what better example is there than the fate of General George Armstrong Custer? Not so long ago, he was almost revered as a hero who "died with his boots on." More recently, there has been a tendency to sympathize with the position of the forces which destroyed him.
In any case, the scene of the Battle of Little Big Horn has been a historical preserve for a long time, and well worth your time to visit, explore, and contemplate.
The Custer Battlefield National Monument can be found near I-90 and US 212 on the Crow Indian Reservation in southeastern Montana.
