McLean, Texas
The town of McLean, Texas is a Route 66 destination and also bastion of old-west tradition. Here, you'll find the nicely-restored Phillips 66 Station pictured below, which has sat at the side of Old Route 66 for many a year, but you'll also find museums dedicated to both Devil's Rope (barbed wire) and to the Mother Road herself. Both museums are just a stone's throw from the Phillips station and are housed in the same building, which, incidentally, was once the home of a ladies' undergarment-manufacturing plant.
The city of McLean is on old Route 66 (now I-40) in the central panhandle section of Texas.
