Panhandle-Plains Museum
Housed in a WPA-era building on the campus of West Texas A&M University, the Panhandle-Plains Museum is the largest historical museum in Texas. The state-of-the-art museum includes exhibits on transportation, paleontology, petroleum, art, and western heritage, and was in the midst of a multi-million-dollar expansion at the time this photograph was taken.
The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum is located at 2401 Fourth Avenue on the campus of West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.
Canyon, TX is about 15 miles south of Amarillo via I-27, and is also home to the Palo Duro Canyon.
