The creative impulse takes on many forms, with "folk art" being one of the most varied. Below is a vintage postcard depicting Ray's Ornamental Gardens, a homespun roadside attraction assembled with the creative energies of one man, Mr G. E. Ray.
With the guidance of a Stephenville native, I recently was able to find the unkept remains of Ray's place. If one knows where to look, remnants of some of the old stoneworks can still be spotted in the overgrowth.
