Route 66 Monument, Tucumcari, New Mexico
Artists are inpired to produce their works by many different things. Route 66 has been an inspiration to many of us over the years, and has resulted in a plethora of books, paintings, murals, photographs, and sculptures expressing a wide range of feelings.
On the west end of Tucumcari, and right on America's most famous highway, is a work by Thomas Coffin which sits right in front of the city's convention center.
Tucumcari is in northeastern New Mexico, on old Route 66 (now I-40).
