This venerable sign touts a still-running restaurant in Springfield, Illinois, which does a respectable lunch business to this day. US 66 passes (or did pass) very nearby, but over the years the re-routing of the city's thoroughfares has made the Fairview more difficult to get to than most passing motorists are willing to tolerate. Today, only the locals—and folks like yours truly—frequent the place.
